Tsunami Relief
Reconstruction
Projects Fund-Raiser:
AMMA Satsang of Minnesota is creating a wave of
compassion to fund the rebuilding efforts in India
and Sri Lanka. As we transition from the relief
phase into the recovery and development phases,
www.amma-mn.org* is looking ahead six to nine
years! And thanks to supporters from our
compassionate state of Minnesota, our efforts will
be significant! This site is aimed to help you keep
abreast of the news from the field, the status of
the efforts and give you resources to help us
publicize what we’re doing on these projects in
India and Sri Lanka.
The AMMA (Mata Amritanandamayi) Group has undertaken
the major challenge of reconstruction and providing
for hundreds and thousands of children that have no
home, schools or family structure to support their
future. Children and Adults (Women & Men) with their
share of losses are at a stage of no hope.
AMMA wants to build a home for these people that
have free schools up to 10th grade and free
housing complexes. This would help reduce their
pain and sorrow and also build a social structure of
a new beginning with a new family feeling,
thereby helping them to be a part of the existing
social fabric.
For this noble cause AMMA’s organization (www.amma.org)
has donated $23 Million (please
visit link to Global press release below)
for the reconstruction in India and SriLanka.
We feel compelled to think that it is now the social
responsibility for all of us (including the AMMA
Satsang group of Minnesota) to help in this cause
(the reconstruction effort), whatever small or big
we can. Hence we planned an evening of feast and
entertainment to raise funds and support this noble
project.
We look forward to a great evening of “Gala Dinner”
(Indian and American Cuisine) with an Indian Dance
performance followed by a Smooth Jazz musical
evening on 14th May, 2005, "East-N-West" blend of
events, at Marriott Hotels Banquet in Bloomington,
from 5:00pm to 10:00pm.
